We have a current vacancy for an experienced engineer.

Mitchpine Limited is a family-owned business located in the mighty Horowhenua. We are currently looking for experienced engineer to join our team

Based in the Horowhenua, a district which offers the best rural lifestyle in New Zealand, a great climate, and affordable housing. For the right candidate we will look to offer a relocation package.

You will be joining a maintenance team responsible for ensuring the day to day running of our sawmill, Roundwood processing, Boiler & treatment plants. You will also be heavily involved with ongoing new in-house machinery builds.

To succeed in this position, you must have a can-do attitude & have the ability to think on your feet solving a range of maintenance/diagnostic issues. You will also be able to demonstrate the following skill set. Industry experience not essential.

Good general mechanical knowledge
Ability to read plans and use your own initiative
Mig, and Arc experience
Good communication
Is highly motivated and goes above and beyond the call of duty.
Has a strong work ethic and is committed to delivering work to a high standard.
Is highly organized and takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment.
Is capable of working as an individual at times and also an effective team member.
Is happy to work a minimum of 45 per week, and Saturday work as required. View an overview of our organisation here
